Cebu.IFF : Making Cebu An International Film Hub

The Cebu International Documentary Film Festival (CIDFF) launches its newest platform called the Cebu International Film Festival (CEBU.IFF) to welcome different genres of filmmaking and further expand its efforts to make Cebu a film hub in Southeast Asia. It aims to give visibility and credibility to Cebu’s film industry and create a new market to tourism.

With its theme: “Creativity Unleashed!”, CEBU.IFF aims to gather global filmmakers to celebrate the art and craft of filmmaking, and engage different communities through world-class films as well as promote Philippine-produced narrative and feature.

CEBU.IFF and CIDFF will officially present its Festival programs to the general public on June 11, 2015 at Cinema One of SM City Cebu. Called the Curtain Raiser, it will be one of the highlights of Cebu Business Month 2015 at SM City Cebu.

The Festival will take place on August 15-21, 2015 starting with the Cebu Film Market and Expo on August 15 and 16 at the Grand Ballroom of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel. Opening Night is scheduled on August 16 at the Gallery of Ayala Center Cebu to be followed by a 3-day screening of films in competition on August 17 – 20.

The closing and awards will be held on August 21 to announce the winners of both the documentary and narrative features.

CEBU.IFF film competition is open to professional and student filmmakers of all ages and nationalities with narrative and animated films covering a broad scope of genre.

Categories include the International Category, Philippine Focus and Animated films.
