Micro, Small and Medium Entrepreneurs (MSMEs) in Antique attended a one-day seminar on product branding conducted by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) at The Venue on Wednesday.
Engineer Arlene Galopo, Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist of DTI-Antique, said the seminar was intended to help the MSMEs improve their product branding to become better competitive especially now with the Asean Integration.
She said DTI consultant Wilfredo Arcilla found the local food products in Antique very tasty and of good quality, but that it needs to be promoted more in the market.
Arcilla, who had a one-on-one consultation with the 49 MSMEs, said the names of the products should have to be rebranded to make it more appealing and informative to the consumers.
He suggested for the sweet peanut and tablea produced by Enriqueta’s to be made into bite size and that on the label there should be the picture of the 97-year-old woman who started the product and has become a pride of Antique. (PNA)
