Professor Killed Self

A 36-year old college professor shot himself in the left chest at 3:15 am Thursday in his home in Sun Valley Subdivision, Barangay Calamba, Cebu City.

Nelson Aldrich Esguerra, a doctor of education and philosophy who was teaching at the University of Cebu, was seen already dead, said P01 Merlo Laborte, a homicide investigator. Laborte said Esguerra left a six-page computerized suicide note about his life since he was still a child. Authorities believed Esguerra did not take well the annulment with his wife. He left behind two children from his former wife.

Police recovered a .9 mm caliber pistol and an empty shell inside his room.
